Fail Safe Spring Applied Brakes (SAB) from B.Brake.
A SAB type brake is one which employs a spring to apply pressure to a friction disc coupled to a rotating shaft. In applications with an electric motor, the SAB Brake is powered by AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current, also referred to as continuous current) to in a stator or coil to create an electro magnet strong enough to pull a pressure plate away from the brake disc and into springs. When power is removed, these same springs apply force to the pressure plate which puts pressure to the brake disc coupled to the motors rotor shaft, stopping rotation and holding the rotor shaft from turning.
B.Brakes are used on some of the finest electric motors manufactured in the world, and are found on the most demanding applications because of their unique quality and reliable performance in DC braking applications. B.Brakes are design to perform with no maintenance or even adjustment for at least 1,000,000 cycles.
B.Brake's are available exclusively from TVT America and can be purchased from stock in a wide variety of standard voltages and sizes. A full range of accessories is also available for immediate shipment to anywhere in the world.
